Tom Coulton, relocated from Tokyo to Mitarai on the island of Osaki Shimojima, Kure City in 2015. He is a professional photographer and writer who co-founded the popular food website The Setouchi Cookbook. He also runs an English tea shop called The Tea Cosy on weekends. He has renovated an old Japanese house and runs a volunteer group that assists people who want to relocate to the Tobishima Kaido islands.

Ryokan Potie was born and raised in Shonan, Kanagawa and moved to UK in the 80’s.Since moving back to Japan, he moved to Ogusa, Daiwa in 2021.He exports Japanese technologies abroad, especially in the environmental and agricultural sectors.He is also a DJ, writes music and plays at festivals across Japan.
Whilst looking for affordable property with scope to become self-sustainable, he fell in love with the house in Daiwa, and is now settled with his British wife, children, marmots and goats.

Franc Castellá was born in Valencia, Spain in 1981.Graduated from the trumpet department of Valencia State University of Music. Self-taught IT and design, engaged in graphic arts business for 14 years. In 2009, after staying in Italy, moved to Japan, Hiroshima Sera. In 2011, founded Oheso Cafe & Bakery. Currently, he is the CEO of Oheso Corporation., and in charge of the company’s design, IT, and bread divisions. Father of 2 children.
